Our Commitment to Sustainability

On September 21st, the Village Board unanimously approved a Resolution that commits Cottage Grove to transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources with the goal of having 100% of Village operations sourced from renewable energy by 2040. 2020-11 Resolution

Current Sustainability Projects:

  • We are currently exploring placing solar panels on several Village owned buildings in addition to larger community based solar projects in collaboration with Alliant Energy
  • We are in the middle of a Village-wide tree inventory to assess the health and disease risk of our Village canopy and increase the diversity of native flora in the Village.

Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment (EVSE):

Alliant Energy offers a $500 Rebate for any Level 2 EVSE charger purchased for your your home. (https://www.alliantenergy.com/InnovativeEnergySolutions/SmartEnergyProducts/ElectricVehicles/EVHomeChargersandRebates)

N&N Electric are local electricians who are ready to install your Level 2 (240V) EVSE charger (https://www.n-nelectric.com/). Typical quotes range from $800-$1,500 depending on accessibility.
