The Cottage Grove and Monona Parks & Rec. Departments have teamed up to offer Ski/Snowboard trips this Winter. More details will be available on each city’s website!

Rockclimbing Camp - Glacial Drumlin Climbing Wall
Place: Glacial Drumlin Gymnasium (climbing wall)
Dates: Thursdays after school

All middle school aspiring climbers are invited to sign up for the rock climbing course on the new, state-of-the-art GDS climbing wall. The program follows a challenge by choice philosophy and is designed for climbers with any amount of experience. All equipment will be provided for participants. Participants will learn and test out on knot tying, belaying and climbing safety skills the first class and climb in remaining classes while proper technique is emphasized. Come and find out what your limits are and how high or how quick you can get up on the climbing wall. Class is suitable for all abilities.
GDS Afterschool Glass Fusing Class

Susan’s Fusion will help you discover the creative properties of glass. We'll start off each session making magnets, necklace pendants, adn keychains. The projects for the final week will vary. Past projects include sun catchers, night lights, mirrors, picture frames, ornaments, tangram puzzles, wind chimes, and drink coasters. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination! Maximum of 14 students per session—so sign up soon!
Babysitter’s Training
Place: Village Hall
Dates: Saturday, November 19
Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Ages: 11 and up
Cost: $65
Max: 12 kids (second class could be added if enough people sign up)

Like any other occupation, babysitting requires specific tools to maximize your abilities. This course teaches the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for infants and school-age children. Participants learn how to respond to emergencies and illness, make decisions under pressure and recognize safety and hygiene issues. Upon successful completion of all the course requirements, participants will receive a Babysitters Training -- Has Attended certificate. All participants must bring own lunch.
Basic Aid Training
Place: Village Hall
Dates: Saturday, December 10
Time: 9:30 am - 4:00 pm
Ages: 8 - 11 year olds
Cost: FREE
Max: 12 kids (second class will be added if enough people sign up)
Registration Deadline: November 25
This course introduces children (ages 8 to 11) to safety information and first aid procedures for breathing difficulties, bleeding, poisoning, burns, shock and other emergencies. A grant from Group Health Cooperative covers all costs for this program so it can be offered free of charge to interested children. Upon successful completion of all the course requirements, participants will receive a Basic Aid Training -- Has Attended certificate. Students must bring own lunch.
